The project

Deployment of a containerized data center as part of a disaster recovery plan at Nantes Airport.

The Issues

In September 2011, as part of the implementation of an IT disaster recovery plan, Nantes Atlantique Airport, operated by Vinci Airports, issued a request for proposals to establish a second data center.

The Module-it Solution

In less than three months, the shipping container converted into a data center by Module-it was delivered and put into service (delivered in April, the module was operational by May 11)—a 4-rack it-Box, which has since been expanded to 5 racks.

The strength of the solution

Thanks to this type of structure, the airport will be able to add an additional module as needed in the future.

"We wanted this project to be managed by a single general contractor specializing in the construction of computer rooms. Module-it also had extensive experience in the field of container-based facilities, and we were quickly won over by the speed with which their solution could be implemented," said Jean PERVENCHE, CIO of Vinci Airports.
